Real Estate Owned Properties

Real Estate Owned (REO) properties are foreclosed properties owned by a bank, government agency, or government loan insurer. They can be found in across neighborhoods in cities in South Florida. Bank REO properties are frequently in poor condition. They need repairs and maintenance to satisfy South Florida property upkeep laws, and to maintain the property’s value for selling purposes.

In addition, the Protecting Tenants at Foreclosure Act (ProTAFA) gives a tenant the right to remain in a foreclosed home if they have a lease. In this situation, banks and sometimes even individual investors, become the landlord.
